"The evil that men do lives with them". in this case it lives with   six year old twins at the Lagos Island metropolis .

The issue of how we protect our children from being assaulted sexually still remains an issue,a supposed neighbour and his friend assaulted a set of twin girls repeatedly.

Yusuf Ojulape,a cobbler was arraigned at an Ebute Metta Magistrate's court for allegedly fondling six year old twins(names withheld) severally,thereby causing them injuries. 

Yusuf,alongside his friend Akibu a bouncer who happened to be neighbours with the girls's parents at 23 ,Okearin Street were in the habit of calling the twins to their room to assault them by inserting fingers into their private parts,according to reports. 

In addition,it was learnt that their mother simply called mrs Akeem said she came to know about the assault,when she discovered swelling around her daughters private parts,while she was bathing them.After which she asked them what happened and they told her it was Brother Yusuf that has been assaulting them. 

On hearing her daughters report,she left for Yusuf's room to confront them but the man was not in the house. 

On another occasion when she sent the kids on an errand,they were stopped by Yusuf and his friend who succeeded in taking one of them in while the other ran off to alert their mother.Akibu took to his heels when police arrived the scene while the police succeeded in arresting Yusuf. 

The prosecutor,Inspector R.Odigie, who said he could not see clearly or understand the medical test report,when the Magistrate asked for it,noted that Yusuf committed an offence punishable under section 135 of the criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003 and demanded that he be remanded in the police custody . 

The charge sheet reads thus:That you Yusuf Ojulape 'M' between June 18 and 22,2013 at 23 Okearin Street,Lagos Island Lagos Magisterial District ,did indecently assaulted 6-year old twins(names withheld) by inserting your finger into their vagina and causing them injuries and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 135 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003."

As the days roll by the buzz and gist of Valentine's day gathers momentum.It is gradually building up till it gets to its crescendo on the 14th day of February.

Dear husbands and wives what are we doing for our spouses on that day? Yes we all show love everyday to our spouses ,but that day has been set aside to celebrate and show  love in every ramification  to everyone ,anyone and to those we hold dear to our hearts.

Wives let us be careful not to upset our dear husbands this period ,so that we get our gifts and chocolates and of course ultimately spends the Valentine with us .Being a Friday I know its going to be a fun-filled day and night as its the beginning of the weekend.

No ' jibity /wayo'  fashioned against us on Valentine's day shall proper,we will stick to our darling husbands like glue.God Bless our marriages.

Being married is it better than being Single?

There was an argument amongst my friends who said they would not trade their married status for being single.That if they had known they would have been married a long time ago,but then maybe their husbands would not be the wonderful men they are to them today.

Being happy in a marriage is relative,it depends on what makes the couple tick and the level of contentment in the marriage.

Contentment goes a long way in a marriage,as it keeps the husband or wife in check .They would rather settle for their spouse than go out there to get what they already have at home.The probability that the spouse might get trouble rather than have peace if he /she is cheating on the spouse is high.

There are a few major factors the singles do not know they can enjoy in the marriage ,which are the following:

• Companionship- As one grows older,one comprehends the way of the world and will rather have one special person to share everything with.The joys ,pains ,laughter etc that way one's business is not all over town.
• Affluence-Wealth is relative,its not all about money though money is very important and plays a major role in a marriage.This brings about the three types of homes in marriages,(a).One that could have all the money but have no peace   (b)one that could have no money but haver peace (c) One that has enough money(comfortable) and has peace & happiness.
• Love- Love enables the couple appreciate and tolerate the imperfections of their spouse and rather than look at it with irritation and disdain it brings a smile and creates a fondness in the heart of the spouse.This creates an atmosphere of peace ,in-depth  knowledge of one another,that is priceless in a marriage.
• Focus- Marriage makes one more focus on certain primary goals.such as one not spending funds on luxury items that can be avoided or frivolous living.It directs one's path to issues that are of basic concerns in life such as ,spending funds on acquiring assets ,investing in their future and that of their children with a focus for a better tomorrow.
• Team- The home becomes a team of its own,with primary players being the husbands and wives.For they jointly take decisions together (for two good heads are better than one) basically for the good of the family .If its not beneficial to the family its a no go area.This is called sacrifice.

If they had been single they would not have had these joys & pains,highs & lows and appreciation for having a family.

Yes of course ,being married is priceless especially when you are married to the right person that makes you feel content and happy that you with him or her.

Sights & Sounds:Man Seeks To Dissolve Marriage with Troublesome Wife

This is an ironic situation usually it is the man who harasses the woman but in this case it a Woman!If the man is the one doing it we call it Domestic Abuse now it is the man.What do we call it? Some men can so gentle and they pick a hot headed woman for a wife.

It is the case here of one business man Mr Seyi Ogundeji,,who has pleaded with the Customary Court to dissolve his marriage to his wife due to incessant fighting,there by creating an unhealthy ambience in the home.

Will you blame the man,there is enough fighting in one's life due to the daily struggles,the home is meant to be a sanctuary not a war zone.

 In Abeokuta a business man Mr Seyi Ogundeji,on Friday pleaded with a Customary Court in Ake.Abeokuta,to dissolve his marriage to Biola on grounds of threat to life. 

Ogubdeji 34,who resides at 17 ,Oke-Bode,Abeokuta,accussed Biola 29,of public embarrassment and incessant fighting. 

"My wife is very troublesome,she usually curses and embarrasses me in public anytime we have a little misunderstanding." 

"She also squanders the rents I collect from my tenants.Sometimes ago,she stole my N200,000.00 .She denied stealing it. 

Her behaviour made me to marry a second wife .Please separate us before she kills me" Ogundeji urged the court. 

Biola,a petty trader did not deny the allegations,but pleaded with the court not to grant her husband's request. 

"All he had said is true ,but I am ready to change my ways.he wants to send me away so that the second wife can move into our apartment. 

"Help me to appeal to him because there is no man that will marry me at this age',she said.The couple is blessed with a child. 

The President of the court ,Mr Isreal Fajebe said that there was little room for reconciliation and fixed February 13 for judgement.

Sights & Sounds: Man Faces Death For Stabbing Wife to Death

The story below is culled you know my famous daily the Vanguard Newspaper .It is a story  domestic violence that has culminated into murder. 

The man is forming oyibo gist that he is mentally unstable when he committed the act that he was insane. Abeg crase person fit go beg say e no wan die say e dey crase? Who give am the sense?

This is Africa,that logic of insanity when the person is seen to be mentally stable will not work.Find below the story.

The court of Appeal ,Lagos Division has upheld the death sentence handed a man Edet okon,who was found guilty of the offence of Murder by a Lagos State High court and was sentenced to death by hanging for stabbing his wife with a spoon at night.

A three-man panel of the Court of Appeal led by Justice Joeseph Ikyegh ordered that Okon be hanged for killing his wife.

The appellant had appealed the judgement,arguing that the lower court erred in law when it dismissed his plea of insanity.But in a unanimous judgement,the court of Appeal held that Appeal No CA/L/553/10 lacked merit and dismissed it.

Justice Ikyegh,who delivered the leading judgement said ,Mrs Okon's blood was crying for vengeance and her killer husband should "reap what he has sown;blood for blood" 

Okon had claimed at the lower court that he was insane at the time he stabbed his wife to death and two witnesses called by the defence had given evidence that there were cases of insanity in the family of the appellant.

However ,the court rejected the evidence adduced in support of Okon's claim,convicted him of murder and ordered that he should die by hanging. 

Aggrieved ,Okon took his defence to Court of Appeal,urging it to upturn the judgement of the lower court but in their judgement,the Appeal Court justices said the High Court was rejecting the plea of insanity.

The Court further held that the burden of proving insanity rested on the appellant.The appellant,the court added ,failed to discharge the burden on him to prove that he was insane at the time of committing the offence.

Valentine 's season is here again.

Husbands & Wives need for Family Planning...

Awhile back ,a woman was standing by the road side ,she had a child on her back,and two other children on either side ,of course a woman will not go any where without her bag and she was pregnant with all these she was trying to board a commercial bus.

While she was trying  to get into the bus ,she was begging for assistance from the passengers to her with the children .After she was settled in she launched into asking for monetary assistance that her husband is not aiding with the financial responsibilities of fending for the children.

An elderly woman in the bus asked her,"my pikin u never hear of family planning?"

Who is to blame? Is it the Husband or the wife/woman who did not take precaution ,knowing the financial status of the family?
